In 2005, I lost 136 pounds in 9 months and was then talked into coaching others to do the same. My method for weight loss was low fat raw food. You can learn more about my weight loss journey at IBeatObesity.com, and about my fast weight loss coaching at RawFoodBootCamp
I admit, I was surprised not everyone wanted or could do a raw diet for fast weight loss. While coaching hundreds of obese women over the years, I have learned a lot about obesity. More importantly I have learned why so many fail so often.
For a while now, people have been bugging me to write a book about all that I have experienced and learned. Although I support raw foods for fast healthy weight loss, what I learned was: it is not the answer for everyone. I also came to terms with the fact that obesity and the ability to step away from food obsessions was more important to me than defining myself based on what type of eating plan I or anyone else chose.
The Preparing for Weight Loss Series of workbooks is my offering to the obese community of what I believe is the most important aspect for successful life-long health and well-being. Honesty. So many come to Boot Camp who love the idea of what we do, but when the reality of what it takes to succeed hits, it is overwhelming. I want to show the readers of my e-workbooks that it doesn't have to be this hard, if they would just take an honest evaluation of themselves and their true desires.
Although so many say what they want is fast weight loss, they are not prepared to give up the food and do the exercise required for it. What they seem to have missed is that all these years they have struggled with their weight, the plethora of diets they have put themselves through, and the hundreds of pounds lost and gained has got them no where. Why? Because our minds were always on losing rather than changing. We want that quick fix, without taking life-long responsibility.
If you don't change. If you don't take stock in who you really are and your relationship with food then you can lose all the weight you want and gain it all right back.
My goal, my mission, is to show you that change is not that hard if you accept that it must be done and are willing to do it, regardless of how slow or how small the change.
My books are not like other diet books. I do not tell you what you want to hear. I do not tell you how to lose the weight. Instead I show you what you need to know about you so you can design an individualized, livable diet for both weight loss and life-time management.
Don't expect to be coddled or slowly transitioned over to the truth. I am a very matter-of-fact type of person and lay it all on the line for you. That truth is: you are overweight or obese because you choose to be. My job, my passion, is to show you that you do have the ability within to choose otherwise.
You and only you are your magic pill for success.
