I am very excited about this first e-workbook, Fat Brain Lies, in my series of Preparing for Weight Loss books.
It follows along with my no coddling approach to coaching, but is not nearly as hard on the reader as I am on the ladies at Boot Camp!
After all these years of running camp I have learned one thing: If a person isn't ready, it doesn't matter what type of diet or level of support offered, they won't stick to it long enough to reach their goals. Here are the two most prevalent excuses women use when they quit camp.
1. I am too hard on them.
2. The diet is too restrictive
Both are valid, but when a year later these same women return to camp with no loss or even a gain, I have to wonder. If I was too hard on them, then why didn't they continue on their own? Or if the diet was too restrictive, why didn't they try a modified version and at least not gain the weight back?
The answer is simple: We have all been trained well. We are either on a diet or we are not.
Fat Brain Lies was written to help the reader understand that there is a middle ground and that weight loss without great sacrifice is possible, if you are willing to take responsibility for the food you eat.
First, you must accept your body, your self, and the role food plays in your life. Then you can figure out what is your best approach to life-long health.
Fat Brain Lies is 134 pages of reality to force you to acknowledge the truth and the lies behind your eating and your body. As the first e-workbook in the series, it was designed as a stepping stone for self-discovery, not in who you are or how you got there, but in your relationship with food and your desire to be thin and healthy.
We waste so many years of our lives on diets and get nowhere. It is time to realistically evaluate what is feasible and what is not and then develop an individualized, livable plan for weight loss and life-time maintenance.
Together in the Preparing for Weight Loss Series we can do just that!
