36 steps tonight.  that's 1.5 sets of stairs.  me and my sister figured out that we'll need to add 1/2 of a set of stairs each week if we're going to have the stamina to climb a mayan temple.

my work out tonite was awful!  i did .35 miles in 20:26 minutes.  seriously awful!  my thighs were sore, and my lower back was killing me.  last night was so much easier, and i was able to get 9 laps in the same amount of time.  12 laps = 1 mile, so what is that?  .66 of a mile?

i used to like taking my walk in the morning.  it got it out of the way, and it set a precedent for my day.  i also like it cuz there were other fattie mommies just like me.   one morning though, i missed my morning workout and had to go at night.  wow!  what a difference.  i was touched.

the energy is outrageous!  families were there playing basketball, running together, or swimming or other activities.  the place was crowded and there were lines fo the equipment.

all the people there were not at home after a long day cracking a beer in front of tv.  they were out playing.  i love going at night now.  i did all this week.  i am the fattest person there and a bit out of place, but i can relate more to this crowd than the fatties. momma crowd.  i learned something new about myself that i did not know before.  interesting.

OH NO!  today's fact finding found that:  "The worst weather of the year is during September and October."  exactly when i'm going to be there.  they won't let us climb the mayan temples when they are wet....slippery i guess.

my sister and i will probably do this instead:

i'm cranky.  i want to eat more food.

did 1.5 flight of stairs, and it took one lap to get my breath back.
.55 miles in 23:12 minutes.

i'm wondering if my garmin is working correctly.  according to it, i was doing a 22 minute mile, so if my pace is a 22 mile, and i did at least 22 minutes, why does the distance register 1/2 mile and not one mile?  i don't get it.  the pace and distance should match up, right?

Roatan activities:  Swim in the gorgeous blue waters of the Caribbean. Search for shells along white, sandy beaches. Relax on the deck of the Jolly Roger as you get a really great suntan. Enjoy the amenities of the Gumbalimba Nature Adventure Park and Beach, including shopping, bird watching, hiking, exploring, swimming, snorkeling, and sunning. Don mask, fins and snorkel and be mesmerized by the beauty of life around the coral reefs of Roatan. Or just stretch out and take it all in with a cool tropical drink from our bar.

Yay!  I want to go on your vacation!  That looks like great fun. Five years ago my family and I did a cruise of the Mexican Riviera and it was great, but very urban compared to the photos you are posting. Rafting! Hiking! Wow.

And good for you on the stairs. You must have really good knees!

Finally got to ask my parents about Belize. They stayed on a tiny island off of Belize known for its diving so they didn't really see any of the mainland. They said it was your typical tropical paradise with beautiful water, pretty sand but very hot. The airlines also lost their luggage on the way home and it was never recovered and they didn't reimburse them for the full amount as it was my Dad's diving equipment that turned up missing. The airline was Taca which according to them stands for "take a chance airlines." Ha! At least you won't have that worry being on board a ship. Have a great time and take some photos to post here.

i don't think i could ever live on an island this small.  i'd be terrified that one hurricane or tsunami would wipe everything out.

i felt better when i woke up this morning, my fever broke, and i didn't cough as much as i had been.  i started cleaning up the kitchen and suddenly felt so drained that i had to lay back down again.  i'm hoping to be better still tomorrow, but i probably won't be able to tackle stairs yet as i don't have full lung capacity back yet.

still sick and feeling discouraged.  this is a halt in my progress and it isn't even my fault.

i had no appetite whatsoever today.  no interst in food nor even thought about it til i had to fitday what i ate and report here.  then it was how much trouble i was going to be in for not eating.  i wish i had no interest in food ALL the time.

Honey, I know exactly how you feel. I would wonder what life is likt to not think about my next food fix. But I have to have faith that cleaning up my diet and working out will pay off and that one day I'll love how I feel so much that food will not even matter. Or I'll be able to discipline myself in such a way that I can save up for a nice meal and work it off at the gym. When I stick to raw it really helps. When I start tasting and nibbling my brain goes haywire.

Good luck and let's keep fighting the good fight here. We don't have to be obese.

hey dblond, thank you for saying that.  sometimes i feel like i'm the only person in america who thinks about food all the time.  my next food fix as you put it.  nice to know i have company in this.

yeh, i agree....raw really did help.  my husband said he wants the two of us to be 100% raw after the kids move out.  we don't have enough stamina to fight with them over food.  it's hard enough to fight about the important issues, yanno?  we have 2 kids in middle school, and 4 in high school  i'm going through menopause, and they are going through raging hormones....somebody's gonna die!!!!  bwa hahahaha.  jk.

here's today's picture.  i wonder if they deliberately carved out the island like this to allow ships or is this a natural keye?
