One of my favorite TV show is called amazing race. i've watched every episode from its beginning. i don't have cable, so i have to watch it on computer. my sister and i want to do one together. so i found this little race we can do while we are out.
Play Amazing Cozumel Race - an interactive, clue-based adventure game that's like a reality show! Equal parts live-action mystery novel, and scavenger hunt, it's the best and most fun way to experience Cozumel.
On this excursion you will:
•Form teams of two or more, with a maximum of ten guests per team. •Be met at the pier and taken to the starting line. •Spend an exciting day racing throughout Cozumel, solving devious clues each step of the way. •Try to be the first to unlock a secret code and defeat an ancient Mayan Curse. •Enjoy a brief snorkeling adventure. •Use your wits, energy, and sense of adventure as you race against time and your shipmates. •See a side of Cozumel most visitors never get to see. •Enjoy a post-race race awards ceremony at a local restaurant with prizes for top finishers plus two complimentary beverages for all participants.
Note: Guests with limited mobility may find this excursion too strenuous. At least one member per team must be able to swim in the ocean. The race will take place throughout town. Discounted meal is available for purchase during the Awards Ceremony. Snorkel gear provided.

this illness that i have, indeed my family as well as my sister's family has us all baffled. we have a headache, ears hurt, very cold, nauseous, diahrea (sp?) and so very tired. then we'll start to feel better and think we're over it when it hits again out of the blue. or is it that we are getting it again and again? i mean is it a flu that hangs on and on or do we get well only to have it again cuz the fam has it? whatever it is, i wish it would go away. my lymph glands are all swollen, and my head aches. i'm fighting the urge to sleep all day.
today i ate 1 and a half sandwich and a cup of hot cocoa. shocked me that it was nearly all my calories for the day. good thing i'm not that hungry.

scuba with the dolphins. makes me want to get a scuba license or whatever they are called. i swam with the dolphins in a pool once, and it was an amazing experience. but after watching a movie called the cove, i will not do that again. the movie talked about how dolphins can't make it in captivity because they have a natural desire to swim 50 miles a day. and they can't do that in a sea world pool. and they eventually die in captivity which means they are in contstant need of new dolphins. anyway, if i can scuba with them in their natural habitat where they are free, now THAT would be the experience of a lifetime, eh?

coconut milk is bad. very bad. i usually buy coconuts and cut them myself for the water which is low in calories and has NO fat, so when i saw coconut milk in a can and no coconuts on the shelf, i bought it. i made a smoothie using the entire can and then brought said can with me into my office to enter it into fitday. holy cow! i was in utter shock. a serving was two ounces out of a 12 ounce can. oops. i guess i'll stick to fresh whole coconuts.

i am a bird person. i love birds. wonder if i could talk my sister into this excursion called "pirates, birds, and monkees"?
Fuel your fascination with nature and its creatures on this tour of Gumbalimba Park.
•At the park, you can listen to the tranquil sounds of the waterfall as you stroll through the nature trails with your guide.
•Watch the colors of the Caribbean come alive as you interact with the parrots and macaws in the bird sanctuary.
•You can also hold and play with spider monkeys, white face monkeys, and a howler monkey in the Monkey Refuge, and roam through the botanical gardens where you will discover the indigenous plants of this region.
•After exploring the park, plunge into the pristine waters of the Caribbean or relax under the canopy of the trees.
the waterfall sounds lovely and looking forward to the birds. oh and plunging into the waters of the caribbean. ahhhh. i could use that right now....it's so hot here. i'm kind of scared of monkees....dunno why. /shrug.
while out walking, i had this sudden, sharp pain in my foot...like i had sliced it open or something. the pain was bad enough for me to seek medical attention, which if you know me, you'll know i don't use mainstream doctors unless under extreme duress. at any rate, i am diagnosed with plantar fascitis. i have certain exercises to do, cold packs, and stay off my foot. LOL. stay off my foot when i have 10 kids to take care of all day? ok. i'll try. another thing, i am supposed to get inserts for my shoe. do they make inserts for river sandals? or flip flops?
goal: 52 pounds
exercise: .66 miles in 16 minutes
food: 3 bananas 4 C tropical fruit 2 peaches 1 head of romaine lettuce 1/2 large tomatoe 1/2 of a sweet onion 1 clove garlic 1 C raspberries 1 avocado
calories: 1366 fat: 27%

i can not tolerate any pressure at all on my foot. my daughter thought to massage my foot, but even a light tuoching nearly caused me to cry. i'm hopping about the house clinging to the walls as i go. my daughter has taken over kitchen duties. sweet girl.
what's this? my eleventh grader son is helping her? ohhhh, it's cuz he's having a girlfriend over later. heh heh.
i went to bed so raging hungry last night. oprah said once that when you go to bed hungry, and you've had enough calories for the day, that your body uses its fat stores. hurrah for going to bed hungry....then my high school graduate, college accepted daughter came into the room with two large cheese and tomatoe sandwiches. i love cheese and tomatoe sandwiches btw. the smell. the sounds of her chewing. my mouth watering. i fussed at her to hurry up and eat them, and she reminded me of how i wanted to feel while on the cruise. get gratification now, or be gratified on those islands. smart girl, my daughter. grin. that temptation passed, and i felt all the stronger for making it through. i need a whole series of making it through.

exercise: none
food: 3 bananas 4 C tropical fruit 6 C romaine lettuce 10 campari tomatoes 1/4 C onion 1 avocado 1 C raspberries 4 ghiradelli chocolate squares

i have not eaten meat of any sort since 2005; for religious, ethical, and environmental reasons. so why am i craving steak all of a sudden? and i want it rare, bloody even. like, ew. my sister told me to eat spinach so i did and that took away the craving. i have not had meat cravings in a very long time. this came out of nowhere. my dad told me that after 20 years of being a non smoker, that once in a while, he still gets the odd craving for a cigarette. so interesting how our bodies act and react.
it occured to me that if i can't walk for exercise, why not swim? i can get my flips on and if i walk on the outside side of my foot, i can do so with minimum pain. so i went to the pool.
goal: 48 pounds
exercise: swam laps for 20 minutes
food: 3 bananas 4C tropical fruit 2 peaches baby spinach leaves romaine lettuce 1/2 C peas 1 avocado 1/4 C onion 1/2 C tomatoe 1/4 C mushroom 1/2 C raspberries 4 ghiradelli chocolate squares

today i wanted to discover what types of fruit can be found on the island of roatan. they grow apples! i thought apples only grew in cooler climates. they have bananas and coconuts as expected as well as lemons, limes, tangerines, oranges, mangoes, papayas, and avocadoes! yummmm!!!
here's a blurb from someone's blog:
"There is tropical fruit literally growing everywhere. This means cheap mangos, fresh fruit salads, tasty fruits and veggies for sale from the back of pickup trucks. But, it also means rotten fruit all over the place, particularly near our hotel which is surrounded by fruit trees. Also, the sound [of] falling fruit onto tin roofs is common. Quite startling to hear a coconut hit a tin roof in the middle of an otherwise pleasant meal."
can hardly wait! i'd run out and grab that coconut and yell, "machete!!!" can you imagine so much fruit that it's lying about going rotten? no fair!
